Information and Tips

After booking onto a webinar you will receive an email confirmation, so it’s IMPORTANT you check your email and make sure it’s correct or you won’t receive the confirmation or link to the webinar.

Your invites/links will be sent 3 to 5 days before the webinar. If you do not receive them let me know, but please check your junk/spam first. To join the webinar, you simply click on the link in your email, preferably around 5 minutes before the start time.

There are moderators on each webinar to support people so don’t worry if it’s your first time we will be able to help, but it is strongly advised that you read the tips below beforehand.
Although things should run smoothly, on occasions some peoples’ internet may be weak and as such may have some issues but the tips below should help to minimise any issues.

Moderators are on there to support you so please do ask if you need help. There is a chat line used for this so look for this when you first come on and perhaps send a “Hi” to say hello to everyone and familiarise yourself with it.

Helpful tips

It is advisable (especially if your internet is not good) not to have anything running in the background on the computer at the time of the webinar. It is also advisable that no one else is using the internet in your house at the same time. If you are on a laptop it might be best to be closer to your router or have a cable to connect to your router

When you first join:
If your computer is not already on full screen you can adjust this by hovering over the presenters image and clicking the “full screen” icon.

When you join you will hear the presenters but your only means of communication is through the chat link. If you want to ask a question, please type it into the chat link. Please familiarise yourself with this button when you log in and perhaps send us a “Hi”!

If you cannot see the chat link click on the 'no audio or video' option which appears under the presenter screen. That should offer a refresh option after which the chat should then appear. If this does not work, please email me after the event preferably with an explanation and screen shots so I can see if we can help for future events.
There are polls built into the webinars where you will be asked to vote. This isn’t through the chat link – a new screen will come up where you will be able to make your selection. The polls are all anonymous, so please join in as nobody can see who has chosen what answer.

If the screen does not go back to normal after doing the poll you will need to scroll back up or down. If you are hearing about a video and not seeing it scroll your screen.
If you cannot see all the poll options zoom out by clicking the 3 dots at top right of screen and there you will find a zoom option.
Please note there is no sound on initial videos, but you will hear the presenter talk on the repeat of the movements.

If your video / picture is small, then try hovering and clicking just below the presenters picture and you should get full screen.

For most people the videos will play automatically but this can depend on the computer and browser. If your video does not play automatically then you will need to press play. A test video will be run at the start of the webinar to ensure everyone is happy. Once you realise you need to press to play you will need to do so on all clips so just try and press this as soon as possible to prevent any time delay.

The end of each video clip has been made with a short time of “freeze frame”. You can use this to contemplate what you have seen and maybe scribble down some notes. This also allows for some that might have a time delay to see the whole of the clip, (though they won’t have the luxury of the “thinking time”.

If your screen freezes, try refreshing it and if that doesn’t work, you may need to log off and log back into the webinar using the link in your email.

If there are sound or video issues then just under the presenters screen there is an audio/ video link – click on this and you will have the option to refresh so click this and it should solve the issue.

If you hear echoing or 2 lots of voices check you have not logged in twice by mistake!

It’s helpful to have a pen and paper to hand.

I hope this information is helpful and if you think of anything useful to add to help others in the future then please let us know.

Looking forward to you joining us on the webinars and we very much hope you find it educational and fun!
